Finn Slough - Keep Out!

Finn Slough has such a unique history. As a kid, I would ride up there on my bike and explore, unaware of the past or its significance.

Established in the 1920s by Finnish settlers, it was an unregulated settlement established outside of the dike.

History aside, it is a cool place to go and take photographs. The tiny structures, some in remarkable condition and others looking a little run down, are teaming with birds and river life.

It is clear from the signage that the residents of Finn Slough value their privacy.
